| Summary, etc. | The project objective is to make a work study analysis to determine the suitable incentive system in order to increase the employees’ motivation in the plastic department in a refrigerator factory. All different types of products in the factory, and the production stages, and their different processes are identified. A time study for each process in the production line is achieved to determine the performance rating of the workers, calculate the normal time, determine the worker allowances, and finally calculate the standard times. Moreover, a motion study through tackling the motions of the workers at each process is conducted. A whole work study analysis is performed to eliminate the waste of time and motions in order to take a suitable decision concerning the incentive system. The 5S methodology was implemented in the department in order to improve the work environment. Moreover, the individual incentive system was implemented in the department in order to improve the workers’ productivity. Finally, a new work study analysis was conducted in order to demonstrate statistically the results of the implementation of the 5S methodology and the incentive system in the plastic department. |
