Implementation of the Total Productive Maintenance in Plastics Industry // GP // Dr. El-Awady Attia ( 2018 - 2019 )
Material type: TextPublication details: Giza : MSA, 2019.Description: 87 pSubject(s): Online resources: Summary: Total productive maintenance was established in Japan in 1971, it is one of type of many other types of maintenance, where its target is to integrate equipment maintenance into the manufacturing process, in order to avoid the machines sudden breakdowns as much as possible. The word “Total' in TPM signifies total organization or total participation. Everyone in the organization at all levels and across all functions plays an active role in TPM including contract and part time employees. It also means total life-cycle, pre empting losses of all types throughout the life cycle of the production system. Finally it means total effectiveness, judged by the maximizing Overall Equipment Effectiveness. (OEE) performance measure. The objective of this project is to implement TPM which maximizes the OEE, and to do so pillars of TPM are used. This helps improve equipment effectiveness, achieve autonomous maintenance, train all staff in relevant maintenance skills, and plan maintenance. Applying TPM helps increase productivity, and availability, and reduce defects in products, which leads to maximizing the (OEE), as it is affected by these three main factors: Productivity, Availability, and Quality.Item type | Current library | Call number | Status | Date due | Barcode | |
